              Montserrat always had the reputation of 
                having few protected anchorages. The 
                eruption has reduced what there was still 
                further. 
                Note The approaches to the S of the 
                island and Plymouth are prohibited. The 
                Exclusion Zone extends out 2M from the 
                coast. 
                 
                LITTLE BAY  
                This haven is the port of entry for 
Montserrat and, therefore, an obligatory 
first stop. The authorities listen out on 
VHF 16.

                 If the wind and swell swing to 
                  the NE it can become rolly and 
                  uncomfortable. The best anchorage is S 
                  of the dock in 3–4m, being sure to leave 
                  manoeuvring room off the dock. The 
                  shoreline is not entirely obvious, so be 
                  cautious. Some buoys available for 
                  pleasure boats. 
                  Ashore In the small port zone you’ll find 
                  the large port office buildings as well as 
                  the police and customs with whom you 
                can complete formalities.
