As a general rule you should remember that:
• in the Antilles the generally benign climate in no way guarantees permanent soldier’s breezes!
• the sea state in the passages between islands is often very rough, especially in winter
• a crew that sails infrequently doesn’t always have its sea-legs
• to the general demands of sailing, if you’ve come from Europe you must add possible jet-lag.
What works with a cruise is finding the right balance between what you’d like to achieve and what your crew can manage.
